Meet Melanie Everett

After more than a decade in the industry, Melanie Everett has earned a reputation for distinctive marketing, seamless client experiences, and a passion for her craft. Melanie leads The Everett Group at Compass, where she and her agents serve buyers and sellers in Chicago and the Western Suburbs. 

In 2019, Melanie opened the proverbial doors to her namesake brokerage, Melanie Everett & Company. After almost 7 years of incredible and organic growth, Melanie forged a game-changing partnership with Compass in 2025, the #1 real estate residential brokerage firm in the nation. 

Melanie lives in Lincoln Park, Chicago with her husband, Andrew, and two young daughters, Holly and Annie. When she’s not working, she is either happily at home with her crew or out to dinner with Andrew (probably talking about real estate!).

What’s your favorite part of the listing process?

Once the photos come in, I sit down with a cup of coffee (or glass of wine, depending on the time of day!), & open my laptop to craft the home’s marketing. I absolutely love writing & storytelling, so creating the listing description is far & away my favorite step.

What’s your favorite part of the purchase process?

I love that moment when I can let my clients know that the sellers have accepted their offer! Cue joy, cheers, & all the excited feelings!

Tell us about your home!

I live in my dream home in Lincoln Park. The day my husband & I toured it, we raced back to our condo to write our offer, & we were under contract by that evening. We live in a one-of-a-kind vintage duplex with so much charm, space, & sunlight. I never want to move!

What does your perfect Saturday look like?

Starting the day with a family walk around our neighborhood, then off to show one of my gorgeous listings! My perfect Saturday ends with a date night at Le Colonial (we must order the chilled shrimp rolls!) & maybe a nightcap at Sparrow.
